How does Norway´s petroleum industry affect its population?
The work is part of the photoproject that Ådlandsvik did from a tourist boat at night. He photographed what he assumed was oil platforms – they appeared like small luminous spots on otherwise black background. That made him want to create the ultimate dream image of this wealth as a shining castle out in the sea. The photo Mirage is a constructed image showing the beautified industry – an illusion without implications of reality – but which also exposes itself exactly as an illusion.
